SoundExchange routinely gets reports from music services that identify “Bach” or “Beethoven” as the recording artist. Usually, that means that a classical group, symphonic society, or orchestra isn’t getting paid for their work, because the composer was reported as the performer. Other times, the recording orchestra or group is reported properly, but the group or its members have not registered with SoundExchange for their royalties.
So this week, a special, extended edition of Most Wanted Monday, for those classical arists who have earned royalties, but haven’t yet signed up for SoundExchange. Come claim your checks – cash is always classically cool.
